"Hey Rukia?"
The violet-eyed shinigami glanced up from her stack of paperwork.
"I was thinking that we need some new carpet for our bedroom. The stuff that's in there now is old and dirty."
Rukia went back to scribbling signatures.
"So, what do you think?" Ichigo asked, trying to pry a response.
"Well I think new carpeting would be nice." She finally answered.
"So… do you want me to order some then?"
"Sure." Rukia said as she hovered over her work.
"…ok. Jeez midget, you work too much." Ichigo mumbled as he walked away.
Rukia heard nothing as she continued to tackle her large amount of documents.
"Rukia!"
Rukia groaned as Ichigo, once again, interrupted her work.
"What?! I'm busy!"
"Rukia, the carpet people are coming in two days and you haven't even touched your things. They're going to need everything off the floor to install the new carpet."
"Ichigo, please just let me finish this!" Rukia moaned while writing on more documents.
Ichigo sighed and walked over to her desk. Taking a look at the small woman bent over her work, he promptly grabbed her around the waist and slung her over his shoulder.
"Ichigo!! Put me down! I need to get this done!!!" Rukia shrieked.
"No, you need a break and you need to clean out your closet so the new carpet can get installed."
"NO! Ichigo I demand you put me down right now! I'll tell Nii-sama about this! He won't be happy about it! You don't want that do you?! If I don't get caught up on my paperwork now it's just going to pile up! I swear, if you…"
It went on like this until Ichigo, who now had a headache, walked into their room and set his screaming wife on the floor and pointed to the closet.
"Clean." was his only command. He walked out of the room and shut the door behind him.
Rukia sat on the floor with her arms crossed, refusing to move and with a scowl on her face. I'm not moving until Ichigo comes in here and lets me get back to my work. I'm not moving, I'm not moving, I'm not moving…
Ichigo decided he should check up on Rukia's cleaning progress.
"Hey Rukia," he said opening the door. "How's the clean…ing…?"
Ichigo had just stumbled upon the Mt. Everest of all box mountains.
"Ru…ki…a…???"
"Ichigo! I'm almost done! Can you just start taking some boxes out to the living room? I think I accidentally boxed myself in. Heehee!"
Holy crap… Ichigo thought to himself. I knew she had a lot of stuff but… He once again glanced at the mass of cardboard towering over him. He sighed and picked up the first of many, many boxes.
So. Many. Boxes. Ichigo thought as he finally set down the last one. I swear, if I ever have to see another cardboard mess like this…
"Wow! All done! That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!" Rukia beamed.
"Easy for you to say, you didn't lift a single one of those things…" Ichigo mumbled under his breath.
"Hmm?"
"Oh nothing, just glad we're done." Ichigo replied.
"Me too!" She smiled again. "Oh Ichigo, if it's not too much to ask,"
"What is it?"
"I'm feeling pretty swamped with paperwork. I'm pretty sure I can handle the stuff I brought home, but there's more in my office back at Sereitei. Could you help me?"
Ichigo sighed again. "Sure. I'll go grab some from your office."
"Thank you so much Ichigo!" She said, hugging him. "I'll just get to work then!"
"Ok." Ichigo called back as he walked out the door.
Ichigo made his way to Rukia's office and opened the door. As he turned on the light switch, he froze in absolute horror.
So. Many. Papers…

deluge
you swept over me
like a sudden summer rain,
your thunder echoed
in my ears as your whispered
words of endearment
settled into the dimples of
my cheeks,
warming them with the dying
rays of a hazy summer sun;
and like lightning dancing in the heat
your calloused hands danced
across sunburnt shoulders
until the skies
turned an inky grey—
and I was drenched.

Book With No End
Our dialogue is like a book with no end
Pages without numbers a writers friend
The ink in my pen will never run dry
My mind feeding me a constant flow
Visions brought forward places unknown
Emotions explored from crevices below
Delight in the stories and places I see
Together a partnership - perfect harmony
Each turn of our page a newly created phrase
A dance within the sphere of heart and mind
Just like ribbons coloured and intertwined
Our dialogue is but what gives me light

i walk home, crisp shoelaces, bloodied nose
middle of autumn, frothing at the mouth
kids took summer skin too far, brought on apocalypse
i tell myself it will be over soon, wintertime freckles
will be here

stove milk and delicate murmurs
the technicolor alphabet teaches itself
purple bowls with animal faces
hospital bracelets around tiny wrists

there is vomit on the floor, new candy sores
